Notification Settings

Control how and when BlaBlaNote notifies you about important events. Customize notifications to stay informed without being overwhelmed.

Turning one notification off and saving it, with all three channels in view.

Accessing Notification Settings

1. Go to Settings
2. Select Notifications
3. Configure your preferences
4. Click Save

Notification Types

Transcription Notifications

Get notified when transcriptions complete:

• Transcription Complete - Recording has been transcribed
• Transcription Failed - Error occurred during processing
• Processing Update - Status changes for long recordings

Task Notifications

Stay on top of your tasks:

• Deadline Approaching - Task due soon
• Task Overdue - Past deadline
• Task Assigned - New task from interaction

Calendar Notifications

For calendar integration users:

• Event Starting Soon - Upcoming meetings
• Pre-Event Insight Ready - AI brief available
• Event Reminder - Custom reminders

Contact Notifications

Relationship management alerts:

• Cadence Due - Time to reach out to a contact
• Cadence Overdue - Missed follow-up window
• Important Date - Birthday, anniversary, etc.

Activity Notifications

General account activity:

• Weekly Digest - Summary of your week
• New Features - Product updates
• System Updates - Maintenance notices

Delivery Methods

Email Notifications

Receive notifications to your registered email:

Enable/disable email:

1. Go to Settings > Notifications
2. Find Email section
3. Toggle notifications on/off individually
4. Save changes

Email preferences:

• Immediate emails for urgent notifications
• Batched emails for less urgent items
• Weekly digest option

In-App Notifications

Notifications appear within BlaBlaNote:

• Bell icon in the header shows count
• Click to view notification list
• Mark as read/unread
• Clear individual or all notifications

Configure in-app notifications:

1. Go to Settings > Notifications
2. Find In-App section
3. Toggle notification types
4. Save changes

Telegram Notifications

If Telegram is connected:

• Receive notifications via @BlaBlaNote_bot
• Includes links back to the app
• Real-time delivery

Enable Telegram notifications:

1. Connect Telegram integration first
2. Go to Settings > Notifications
3. Find Telegram section
4. Enable desired notifications
5. Save changes

WhatsApp Notifications

If WhatsApp is connected:

• Receive notifications via WhatsApp
• Clear, formatted messages
• Links to relevant content

Enable WhatsApp notifications:

1. Connect WhatsApp integration first
2. Go to Settings > Notifications
3. Find WhatsApp section
4. Enable desired notifications
5. Save changes

Check the boxes for each delivery method you want.

Quick Settings

Enable All:

• Click Enable All to turn on all notifications
• Use for comprehensive coverage

Disable All:

• Click Disable All to turn off everything
• Use for temporary quiet periods

Reset to Defaults:

• Click Reset to Defaults
• Returns to recommended settings

Notification Timing

Deadline Reminders

Configure when task deadline reminders arrive:

• 1 day before - Day before due date
• Same day - Morning of due date
• 1 hour before - Close to deadline

To configure:

1. Find Task Notifications
2. Set reminder timing
3. Save changes

Cadence Reminders

Set follow-up reminder timing:

• On due date - Day the cadence is due
• 1 day before - Advance notice
• When overdue - After missing cadence

Important Date Reminders

For birthdays and anniversaries:

• 1 week before - Advance planning
• 1 day before - Reminder
• On the day - Day-of notification

Quiet Hours

Setting Quiet Hours

Prevent notifications during specific times:

1. Go to Settings > Notifications
2. Find Quiet Hours
3. Enable quiet hours
4. Set start time (e.g., 10:00 PM)
5. Set end time (e.g., 7:00 AM)
6. Save changes

During quiet hours:

• In-app notifications still accumulate
• Email notifications may be delayed
• Telegram/WhatsApp notifications paused
• Urgent notifications still sent (optional)

Weekend Settings

Configure weekend notification behavior:

• Same as weekdays - No change
• Quiet mode - Reduced notifications
• Off - No notifications Saturday/Sunday

Weekly Digest

What Is the Digest?

A summary email sent weekly containing:

• Number of interactions created
• Tasks completed
• Upcoming deadlines
• Cadence reminders due
• Important dates this week
• Activity highlights

Configuring the Digest

1. Go to Settings > Notifications
2. Find Weekly Digest
3. Enable/disable
4. Choose delivery day (default: Monday)
5. Choose delivery time
6. Save changes

Managing the Activity Feed

Accessing the Feed

1. Click the bell icon in the header
2. View recent notifications
3. Scroll for older items

Feed Actions

Mark as read:

• Click a notification to mark as read
• Hover and click the checkmark
• Use "Mark all as read" for bulk action

Snooze:

• Hover over notification
• Click Snooze
• Choose snooze duration
• Notification returns later

Delete:

• Hover over notification
• Click Delete
• Permanently removes notification

Feed Settings

• Show unread only - Filter to unread items
• Group by type - Organize by notification type
• Sort by date - Newest first or oldest first

Notification Sound

In-App Sounds

Configure sound for in-app notifications:

1. Go to Settings > Notifications
2. Find Sound
3. Enable/disable sounds
4. Choose sound type
5. Adjust volume

Browser Notifications

Enable browser push notifications:

1. Click the bell icon
2. Select Enable Browser Notifications
3. Grant permission when prompted
4. Receive notifications even when tab isn't active

Troubleshooting

Not Receiving Notifications

Issue: Expected notifications not arriving

Solutions:

• Check notification is enabled in settings
• Verify delivery method is configured
• Check spam folder for emails
• Ensure app is connected for messaging apps
• Review quiet hours settings

Too Many Notifications

Issue: Notification overload

Solutions:

• Disable non-essential notifications
• Use weekly digest instead of immediate
• Enable quiet hours
• Choose fewer delivery methods

Delayed Notifications

Issue: Notifications arriving late

Solutions:

• Check email provider delivery
• Verify internet connection
• Messaging apps require active connection
• Some batch notifications are intentionally delayed

Email Going to Spam

Issue: Notification emails in spam folder

Solutions:

• Add noreply@blablanote.app to contacts
• Mark emails as "not spam"
• Check email filtering rules
• Whitelist our domain

Best Practices

Start Conservative

• Begin with fewer notifications
• Add more as you identify needs
• Prevent notification fatigue

Choose One Primary Channel

• Pick your most-used communication channel
• Use others as backup
• Avoid duplicate notifications

Use the Digest

• Weekly digest provides overview
• Reduce daily notification volume
• Review activity in one place

Respect Quiet Hours

• Set reasonable quiet hours
• Protect personal time
• Adjust for your schedule

Review Regularly

• Audit notification settings monthly
• Remove notifications you ignore
• Add any you're missing
