Onboarding Guide
When you first sign up for BlaBlaNote, you'll be guided through a 5-step onboarding process to help you get the most out of the application. This guide explains each step in detail.
Overview
The onboarding process helps you:
- Configure your account preferences
- Set up transcription languages
- Connect your favorite integrations
- Personalize your profile
You can skip onboarding at any time and complete these steps later in Settings.
Step 1: Welcome & Preferences
In the first step, you'll set your basic preferences:
Timezone
Select your timezone to ensure:
- Accurate timestamps on your interactions
- Correct scheduling for tasks and reminders
- Proper calendar event synchronization
App Language
Choose your preferred language for the BlaBlaNote interface. We support 12 languages:
- English, Spanish, Catalan, Basque, Galician, German
- French, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Greek, Swedish
Step 2: Transcription Setup
Configure how BlaBlaNote transcribes your audio:
Default Language
Select the primary language you'll be speaking in your recordings. This helps the transcription engine deliver the most accurate results.
Additional Languages
If you frequently speak in multiple languages, you can select additional transcription languages. BlaBlaNote will automatically detect which language is being spoken.
Custom Vocabulary
Add industry-specific terms, names, or acronyms that you use frequently. This improves transcription accuracy for specialized terminology.
Examples of custom vocabulary:
- Company names: "Acme Corp", "TechStart Inc"
- Product names: "BlaBlaNote", "ProWidget"
- Industry terms: "SaaS", "KPIs", "ROI"
- People's names: "Gorka", "Mikel"
Step 3: Integrations
Connect BlaBlaNote with your other tools:
Google Calendar
- Sync your calendar events
- Get pre-meeting AI insights
- Link interactions to calendar events
- See attendee information

You can skip this step and connect integrations later.
Step 4: Profile Setup
Complete your profile information:
Profile Photo
Upload a profile photo that will be displayed:
- In the app header
- On your visiting card (if enabled)
- In team features (if applicable)
Name
Enter your full name as you'd like it displayed in the app.
Bio (Optional)
Add a short bio or description. This is primarily used for your public visiting card.
Step 5: Review & Complete
Review your settings and complete the onboarding:
- Confirm your preferences are correct
- Make any final adjustments
- Click Complete Setup to finish
After Onboarding
Once onboarding is complete, you'll be taken to your dashboard where you can:
- Create your first interaction - Record audio or create a text note
- Import contacts - Add people from Google Contacts or manually
- Explore the app - Browse features and customize your workflow
Skipping Onboarding
If you want to skip onboarding:
- Click Skip on any onboarding step
- You'll be taken directly to the dashboard
- Complete the setup steps later in Settings
All onboarding settings can be accessed from:
- Settings > Profile - Name, photo, timezone, language
- Settings > Transcription - Languages and vocabulary
- Settings > Integrations - Connect external services
Troubleshooting
Can't verify email?
- Check your spam folder
- Request a new verification email from the login page
- Contact support if issues persist
Integration not connecting?
- Ensure you're granting all required permissions
- Check that pop-ups are enabled in your browser
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting the integration
Wrong timezone?
- Go to Settings > Profile
- Select the correct timezone from the dropdown
- Your existing interactions will keep their original timestamps
