Configure how BlaBlaNote transcribes your audio recordings. Optimize settings for your language, industry, and terminology to get the most accurate transcriptions.

Accessing Transcription Settings

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Select Transcription
  3. Configure your preferences
  4. Click Save

Default Language

Setting Your Primary Language

The default language is used when BlaBlaNote transcribes your recordings.

To set default language:

  1. Go to Settings > Transcription
  2. Find Default Language
  3. Select from the dropdown
  4. Click Save

When automatic language detection is enabled:

  • BlaBlaNote analyzes the audio
  • Identifies the spoken language

Additional Languages

Why Add Multiple Languages

If you frequently speak in multiple languages:

  • Add all commonly used languages
  • Improves language detection accuracy
  • Better transcription quality
  • Handles multilingual conversations

Adding Languages

To add additional languages:

  1. Go to Settings > Transcription
  2. Find Additional Languages
  3. Click Add Language
  4. Select from available languages
  5. Repeat for each language
  6. Click Save

Language Priority

Languages are prioritized in this order:

  1. Default language (highest priority)
  2. Additional languages (in order added)
  3. Auto-detection fallback

Custom Vocabulary

What Is Custom Vocabulary?

Custom vocabulary helps BlaBlaNote accurately transcribe:

  • Industry-specific terms
  • Company and product names
  • Technical jargon
  • Unusual proper nouns
  • Acronyms and abbreviations

Without custom vocabulary, these might be transcribed incorrectly.

Adding Custom Words

To add vocabulary:

  1. Go to Settings > Transcription
  2. Find Custom Vocabulary
  3. Click Add Word
  4. Enter the word or phrase
  5. Optionally add pronunciation hint
  6. Click Add

Examples:

  • Company names: "BlaBlaNote", "Acme Corp"
  • Product names: "iPhone", "TensorFlow"
  • Technical terms: "Kubernetes", "GraphQL"
  • Names: "Gorka", "Mikel", "Aitziber"
  • Acronyms: "API", "SaaS", "KPI"

Pronunciation Hints

For words with unusual pronunciation:

  1. Add the word
  2. Click Add Pronunciation
  3. Enter phonetic spelling
  4. Example: "GIF" → "jif" or "gif"

Managing Vocabulary

Edit a word:

  1. Find the word in your list
  2. Click Edit
  3. Modify the word or pronunciation
  4. Click Save

Delete a word:

  1. Find the word in your list
  2. Click Delete
  3. Confirm removal

Vocabulary Limits

  • Maximum entries: 500 words
  • Maximum word length: 256 characters
  • Maximum phrase length: 5 words

Best Practices for Vocabulary

Add:

  • Names of people you frequently mention
  • Company and brand names
  • Industry-specific terminology
  • Product names you discuss
  • Common abbreviations in your field

Avoid:

  • Common dictionary words

Beyond settings, improve transcription quality by:

  • Minimize background noise
  • Avoid echo-prone spaces
  • Position microphone properly

Speaking Habits:

  • Speak clearly and at normal pace
  • Pronounce names distinctly
  • Avoid talking over others
  • Pause between topics

  • Use a good microphone
  • Check audio levels before recording
  • Avoid clipping/distortion
  • Use wired headset if available

When to Review Transcriptions

Always review transcriptions for:

Automatic Processing

By default, all transcriptions are automatically:

  1. Transcribed to text
  2. Analyzed by AI for summaries
  3. Processed for key phrase extraction
