Event Mode
Event Mode is BlaBlaNote's experience for attending or running a professional event. It groups everything you need at one event — your matches, your schedule, the exhibitor list, and quick networking actions — into a single focused workspace.
When you join a BlaBlaNote-enabled event, the app switches into Event Mode for that event's dates. You can leave Event Mode at any time to go back to your regular contacts and calendar.
Hub
The Hub is the entry screen for an event. It gives you an at-a-glance read of what to do next, organised around three pillars:
- Agenda (teal) — sessions and meetings on your schedule
- Exhibitors (amber) — booths to visit
- Matchmaking (pink) — people to connect with
Each pillar card shows three numbers:
- Done — actions you've already completed (meetings held, matches accepted, exhibitors visited)
- Recommended — the highest-priority items BlaBlaNote suggests for you
- Total — everything available in that pillar
The wording on each card uses a clear verb first, so you know what action is expected (e.g. Meet, Visit, Schedule) instead of generic tab names.
TIP
Aim for Done ≥ Recommended by the end of each event day. Recommended items are the connections most likely to be valuable for you based on your profile and goals.
Matchmaking
The Matchmaking tab shows people at the event you should connect with.
Categories
- Recommended for you — Attendees BlaBlaNote believes are the strongest match based on goals, industry, and stated interests
- Mutual matches — People who have also marked interest in connecting with you
- Awaiting your response — Attendees who have requested to connect with you
- Sent — Requests you've sent that are still pending
Mutual and awaiting matches are now merged into a single actionable list so you don't have to switch tabs to see who is waiting on you.
Actions
For each match you can:
- Accept — Confirm you want to connect
- Decline — Politely pass on the suggestion
- Schedule a meeting — Pick a slot during the event
- Send a ping — Quick lightweight message (see Pings)
- View profile — See their bio, role, and shared interests
How matches are calculated
BlaBlaNote uses your profile (role, goals, industry, looking-for / offering) and compares it against other attendees. Matches with more overlap in goals and complementary needs (your "looking for" vs their "offering") rank higher.
To get better matches:
- Fill in your goals and interests during onboarding
- Mark what you're looking for AND what you can offer
- Keep your profile up to date if your focus changes mid-event
Agenda
The Agenda tab is your personal schedule for the event.
It includes:
- Sessions you've added from the event programme
- Meetings you've scheduled with other attendees
- Suggested sessions BlaBlaNote thinks fit your goals
- Free slots where you could schedule another meeting
You can:
- Add a session to your agenda with one tap
- Move or cancel a meeting (the other person is notified)
- Open a pre-meeting brief with everyone you're about to meet (see AI Insights)
Pre-meeting briefs at events
Before each scheduled meeting at the event, BlaBlaNote prepares a short brief that includes:
- A summary of who you're meeting and why you matched
- Any past interactions you've had with this person
- Suggested talking points based on shared interests
- Their stated goals at the event
The brief is generated automatically and updates as you add notes or new interactions.
Exhibitors
The Exhibitors tab shows companies and booths at the event.
For each exhibitor you'll see:
- Company name, logo, and booth number
- Short description of what they do
- Whether they match your stated interests
- Whether you've already visited
You can:
- Mark an exhibitor as visited (counts toward your Hub "Done" number)
- Save an exhibitor to follow up later
- Open a list of contacts from that exhibitor at the event
- Send a ping or schedule a meeting with a specific representative
TIP
Recommended exhibitors are highlighted at the top of the list. These are the booths most aligned with what you said you're looking for.
After the event
When the event ends, BlaBlaNote helps you wrap up:
Post-event feedback
You'll receive a short email asking how the event went. The email is sent in your language and uses an informal, conversational tone (no corporate jargon). Your feedback helps organisers improve future events and tunes your future match recommendations.
Post-event report
For each event you attended you get a recap that includes:
- Who you met and connected with
- Sessions you attended
- Exhibitors you visited
- Outstanding follow-ups
- Suggested next steps (people to follow up with, contacts to add, tasks to create)
Move connections into your network
Every accepted match and held meeting at the event automatically becomes a contact in your regular BlaBlaNote network, with all event context preserved. You can pick up the relationship from your normal Contacts list after the event closes.
Privacy & consent
Event Mode is consent-first:
- You choose whether to be visible to other attendees
- You choose what to share on your event profile
- Matches only happen when interest is mutual or explicitly accepted
- You can leave Event Mode at any time
Event organisers see aggregate metrics (number of matches, meetings, satisfaction) — not your individual conversations or notes.
For event organisers
If you are running an event with BlaBlaNote, see the organiser dashboard for:
- Match quality and acceptance metrics
- Meeting volume and no-show rate
- Exhibitor engagement
- Attendee satisfaction (from post-event feedback)
- Perceived event value
Contact your BlaBlaNote account manager to enable Event Mode for an event you're organising.
